March 30

Good Morning Students!

I miss you a lot and wish I could see you in school every day.

You should have received an email from me, sent to your Office365 account. Please email me at mcclymgg@pwcs.edu if you forgot your email address, and I will send it to you.

During these months that you are out of school, it is very important that you read as much as you can! I have posted some great websites with free articles and books under "Useful Links" on my webpage.

It is also very important that you review what we have learned this year.

All of this will help prepare you for 7th grade!

This week your review activities are:

Choose and read one article every day from Scholastic Learn at Home (under "Useful Links").

1. What is the main idea of the article? (What is the article mostly about? Remember that this should be just a few words, like when you wrote a main idea for each chapter of Among the Hidden.)

2. Write a 3-5 sentence summary of the article. (What are the main events or main points of the article?)

Email me your work at mcclymgg@pwcs.edu. I will then email you with feedback!

Ms. McClymont

Dear Students,

I miss you a lot and wish I could see you in school each day.

As you probably already know, all schools in Virginia are closed for the rest of the school year.

The most important thing now is for you and your families to stay safe and healthy. Please click here to read important information on my main page.

Please check my web page every week, as I will be adding important new information.

You may email me at mcclymgg@pwcs.edu if you have any questions!

Story Elements

Did you read a good book or watch a good movie recently?  Every time you read a book or watch a movie, ask yourself:  What are the story elements in this book or movie? Use the Story Elements document under “Files and Documents” as a reference.

What is the setting?

Who are the characters?

What is the confict? Is the conflict internal, external, or both?

What is the plot?

What is the theme?

What is the point of view?

Power Up Lexia

If you can, log into Power Up Lexia and use Lexia as much as possible as it is a great program for improving your English. You can go on Grammar, Word Study or Reading Comprehension.

 Other Resources
Under "Useful Links", you will find other great resources to use while you

23 de marzo

Queridos estudiantes,

Power Up Lexia

March 16-20

Hello Students. I hope you and your families are all staying healthy and safe. Please take good care of yourselves.

We (teaches) have been instructed to not assign you any work this week. This is a good time for you to read a good book. Many of you went to the library last week and have taken books home.

I am in North Carolina visiting my father and may not be able to respond to emails until next week.

Take good care!

Ms. McClymont

16-20 de marzo

Hola estudiantes.

Sra. McClymont

March 9-13:

You did a great job on your Flipgrid project last week! For those of you who were reluctant to video tape yourselves--it wasn't that bad, was it? You should feel proud of yourselves for conquering your fears!

This week you will begin your personal narratives. You will write about an experience that was very special and meaningful to you. Your plan sheets are due on Friday. .

You will continue to use Lexia, our online English program. It focuses on grammar, word study, and reading comprehension.

Remember to read 20 minutes or longer each day.
