PWCS Policy on Virtual Counseling
The counseling department is not providing
virtual mental health counseling during school distance learning. However, the
counseling department is available to provide consultation and support to students
and parents with connection to community resources. Below are also several
links that may help should your child need immediate mental health counseling
support.
Parents or parents with their
child(ren) can schedule a video conference with someone in the counseling
department if they have questions or concerns about resources and
recommendations to assist their child(ren) with any mental health or basic
needs. Please understand that this will be consultation only. Furthermore,
the counseling department will offer office hours when virtual learning is in
session (April 13-June 12, 2020) on Mondays from 1:00-3:30 PM.
Should you request assistance outside of office hours your inquiry will be answered
as soon as possible during our traditional school hours from 8:00 am until 3:00
PM.
Please be advised that during any
virtual sessions the counseling staff will continue to adhere to the limits of
confidentiality. Limits of confidentiality include, if a student reports
potential self-harm, harm to someone else, someone is harming them or any risky
behavior. For more information Please click here to see PWCS Regulation 651-2 regarding the confidentiality of student-disclosed
information.
