August 12, 2019

Dear Bull Run Middle School Parents,

I hope that you and your family are having a restful and relaxing summer break. It is hard to believe that school will be starting in a couple of weeks.  I look forward to meeting our new students and seeing our returning students in the near future.

I am pleased to announce that Lisa Vega will be joining Bull Run Middle School as our new assistant principal, replacing Yvonne Donley who retired in June, 2019.  Ms. Vega is an experience assistant principal who is enthusiastic and loves middle school students.  She has worked as an assistant principal at Parkside and Reagan Middle Schools.  She started her administrative career at Bull Run Middle and I worked with Ms. Vega in 2011 when I was first appointed Principal at Bull Run.  I am excited that she has joined our administrative team and the school.

I am pleased to announced that we will be hosting the band, "Souled Out" on Friday September 13 to our students as part of our welcome back assembly.  "Souled Out" will be delivering a message of kindness and an inclusive environment to our student through live music which includes popular top 40 music and tunes from the past.  The presentation is very engaging and will be a great show for the students.  Parents are always welcome to attend the event, so please feel free to drop by.  The assembly presentations are as follows:
8th grade-  9:20 am
7th grade- 10:40 am
6th grade- 1:15 pm

I would also like to let you know about some upcoming important dates.   New Student Orientation for 6th grade students will be held on Thursday August 22, 2019.  Students and parents are invited to attend the event.   Students will receive their schedules, meet their teachers and will be assigned a locker. (Yes, students can decorate the locker and practice opening the locker as well).
