Updates 6/1

Parents and Students,

This week will be an open review of all objectives taught this year.  I encourage each of you to try a few questions from each objective to see how much you remember.  Please login to IXL.com and follow the following steps.

After login:

Click on "Learning" in the Green Bar.
Click on "Math".
Click on "Skill Plans" - directly under the "Math"
Scroll until you see Virginia Math State Standards
Click on "7th".

Now try at least 3 questions from each objective.  Email me to let me know how well you did.

I hope everyone has a great week.  Please email me if you have any questions or need some help.

Respectfully,

Mr. Bonfadini

Remote Learning for Math 7 Traditional

Parents and students,

I have added every assignment and notes for each of the objectives taught this year to the "Files and Document" link on the left side of this page.  You can read detailed descriptions for each of the VDOE objectives by opening the file titled "VDOE 7th Grade Math Standards" in the folder "Course Documents".  I would encourage all students to revisit the assignments for each unit, as well as, review the Powerpoints & notes to refresh their content knowledge.  Also, all students have been granted access to IXL.  This program is an excellent resource for teaching and reviewing math content.  I would strongly encourage all students to practice at least one objective daily using IXL.(see below for login instructions)  I will continue to update my web page as needed to better facilitate the remote learning process.  I will continue weekly communication through the School Messenger notification system as I have done throughout the school year.

Fortunately, we had very little new content remaining to teach prior to reviewing for the SOL. Here is a list of the objectives taught.

7.1 Number Sense
7.2 Practical Problems
7.3 Proportional Reasoning
7.4 Surface Area & Volume
7.5 Similar Figures & Angles Relationships
7.6 Quadrilaterals
7.10 Slope
7.11 Algebraic Expressions
7.12 Solving Two-Step Equations
7.13 Solving Inequalities

Objectives not taught:
7.7 Transformations
7.8 Probability
7.9 Histograms

I encourage you to explore on your own any videos you can find to explain these three objectives.  Kahn Academy is always a solid resource.

Finally, check out the "Useful Links" on the left side of the this page for a quick access to more resources available to support remote learning.  I will add to this regularly, so check back often.

I appreciate everyone's support and patience as we work through this difficult time together.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me.
