
(Current 7th graders – Rising 8th graders)
After a thorough review process, the NJHS committee evaluates students who might qualify to be part of the NJHS Club. Shortly after the end of Quarter 3, invitation letters are sent to students who have met the qualifications to apply for next year’s NJHS program.
The National Junior Honor Society recognizes the outstanding achievements of our 7th (rising 8th graders) and 8th grade students. We are a service-oriented organization, dedicated to supporting Bull Run Middle School and our wider community. Through service, we strive to build leadership, strong character, and responsible citizenship in each of our members.
All candidates who are accepted and inducted as active NJHS Club members are expected to maintain their membership status by upholding the standards upon which they were selected. In addition, they must fulfill certain responsibilities and actively participate in NJHS activities.

For induction into the National Junior Honor Society, rising eighth grade students must meet specific criteria. To be considered for NJHS, students must:
*Earn a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher (non-rounded) by the end of the 3rd quarter *Demonstrate excellence in the following areas:
In addition, students must: Be on or above grade level in all subjects Have been enrolled at Bull Run Middle School for at least one semester (two quarters)
Membership & Induction Ceremony: Students who are offered membership may choose to accept or decline the invitation. To officially join the Bull Run Middle School Chapter of NJHS, all inductees are required to attend the induction ceremony and pay a membership due $.
Presidential Volunteer Service Award: Students who go above and beyond the 20+ hour requirement may qualify for the Presidential Volunteer Service Award.
To be eligible: Students must complete 50+ service hours
🥉 Bronze: 50–74 hours
🥈 Silver: 75–99 hours
🥇 Gold: 100+ hours
