Laura Totoro - New Assistant PrincipalLaura Totoro has been appointed as the new assistant principal at Bull Run Middle School. She will be filling the AP role for Lisa Vega who recently retired. Ms. Totoro's most recently served as Interim Assistant Principal for Mantua Elementary School in Fairfax.  Ms. Totoro also served at Woodson High School where she held the position of Systems of Support Advisor. In this role, Ms. Totoro implemented academic and behavioral interventions, provided instructional and classroom support for teachers, and developed the Cav Kudos program, which recognizes students who help promote a positive school climate while demonstrating kindness and good citizenship.

Ms. Totoro graduated from SUNY Buffalo and went on to earn a master’s degree from D’Youville University, and an administrative endorsement from Shenandoah University. Ms. Totoro has previously served as Dean of Students, Interim Assistant Principal for both elementary and secondary settings, and Assistant Principal of Marshall High School Credit Recovery Academy. Ms. Totoro is passionate about ensuring all children feel a sense of belonging to their school, and that each student has what they need to be successful and reach their full potential.

Ms. Totoro grew up in Buffalo, New York and currently lives in Loudoun County with her family. She has three children: Owen, Luca, and Francesca. In her free time, Ms. Totoro enjoys cooking, spending time at the beach and is an avid Buffalo Bills fan.

Ms. Totoro brings a wealth of knowledge as an educator and school leader to BRMS. She has been an advocate for a student-centered approach to learning and helping support the needs of all learners.  She has a strong leadership background, knowledge of academic and behavior supports for middle school students, and positive approach towards teaching and learning.  

Ms. Totoro officially begins her administrative appointment on July 18.  Join us in welcoming her as part of the Bull Run Middle School family and community.
