Fiber Art Club - Knouse

What is Fiber Art Club?

Fiber Art Club is a student led club where like minded students that are interested in Fiber Arts such as crochet, knitting, stitchery/embroidery, weaving, latch hook, etc. can create and learn from each other.

Fiber arts refers to creative practices that use natural or synthetic fibers, yarn, or fabric as the main materials. It’s a broad category that includes both traditional crafts and contemporary art forms.

Common types of fiber arts include:

  • Weaving – interlacing threads on a loom to create fabric or decorative pieces.
  • Knitting and Crocheting – using needles or hooks to loop yarn into textiles.
  • Embroidery – stitching designs onto fabric with thread.
  • Quilting – sewing layers of fabric together, often with decorative patterns.
  • Felting – matting and compressing fibers (usually wool) to create dense fabric.
  • Macramé – knotting cords or strings to make decorative or functional items.
  • Spinning – twisting fibers into yarn or thread.

Fiber arts blend craftsmanship, design, and storytelling, often reflecting cultural traditions or personal expression.     (Fiber Art information above is from Canva AI)

FIBER ART CLUB POLICY ON BEHAVIOR & ATTENDANCE

Students are expected to follow Bull Run's Code of Behavior Policy while in Fiber Art Club, to be respectful to themselves, others, and art materials in words and actions at all times.  Club members are also expected to clean up after themselves, to use the art materials responsibly, and put them away after using them.

If any of these policies are not adhered to the student may be asked to leave the club.

NOTE: Please let me know if you will be absent. If anyone misses two Fiber Art Clubs in a row, without informing me of their absence, it will be assumed that they are no longer interested in participating in Fiber Art Club and their space will be filled by the next person on the Wait List.

Transportation & Leaving the Building
  1. Go to your locker before Fiber Arts Club.
  2. Please stay with fellow Fiber Art Club members as we leave.
  3. Please stay together with other students that are riding the same bus.
  4. Do not wander off. If you miss your bus you'll have to wait for someone to pick you up.
  5. There is no horse play while you are waiting for the bus or your ride home.

1. WALKERS - Must have a school provided Walkers Pass.

2. RIDE ACTIVITY BUS -  After School Bus Schedules are located on the Home Club Page.

****VERY IMPORTANT - KNOW YOUR ADDRESS AND DROP OFF LOCATION****
Please review the Bus Schedules so you know your Bus# and the route home from the drop off point.

            * Activity Buses Do Not Stop at every regular bus stop.
3. PICKING UPParents/Guardians must be at Bull Run Middle School by 4:50.
NOTE: If a student's ride is not here by 4:50 they must  take the 5:00 Activity Bus.
KISS & RIDE SAFETY AND COURTESY:
1. Please pick students up in the Kiss & Ride area at the front side of the school where there is Visitor Parking.
2.  Please do not double park while waiting for your student. This is very dangerous.  Drivers may not see your child or another pedestrian as they are crossing in front of another vehicle and visitors can not back out of the Visitor's Parking space.
3. Please move up in the vehicle line after other cars in front of you depart. This leaves room for the cars behind you to pull up and to not block the main road, as well as not having to go around you to move up.
4. Cars are Not Permitted to park or wait in the Bus Lane. The Bus Lane is for buses only. This is posted upon entrance.
5. Parking in the Parking Lot to wait for your student is also discouraged for the students' safety, so they will not be crossing in front of the buses or oncoming vehicles.
