Information for Potential NJHS Members

(Current 7th graders – Rising 8th graders)

After a thorough review process, the NJHS committee evaluates students who might qualify to be part of the NJHS Club. Shortly after the end of Quarter 3, invitation letters are sent to students who have met the qualifications to apply for next year’s NJHS program. 

 

About the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)

The National Junior Honor Society recognizes the outstanding achievements of our 7th (rising 8th graders) and 8th grade students. We are a service-oriented organization, dedicated to supporting Bull Run Middle School and our wider community. Through service, we strive to build leadership, strong character, and responsible citizenship in each of our members.

All candidates who are accepted and inducted as active NJHS Club members are expected to maintain their membership status by upholding the standards upon which they were selected. In addition, they must fulfill certain responsibilities and actively participate in NJHS activities.

Reminder: To be part of the National Junior Honor Society, students must demonstrate all 5 pillars:

All candidates who are accepted and inducted as active NJHS Club members are expected to maintain their membership status by upholding the standards upon which they were selected. In addition, they must fulfill certain responsibilities and actively participate in NJHS activities.

  • Maintain their GPA
  • Avoid discipline or behavior concerns

✨ NJHS Club Hour Requirements & Information ✨ 

  • Summer hours count! Be sure to record them on your hours sheet -they do count toward your yearly total. *Service Hour Sheet available in Canvas*.
  • Students should aim to complete 10 hours per semester (hours are due in December and April) for a total of 20 hours for the school year.
  • Students must complete 3 service hours that directly benefit BRMS. In addition to attending our monthly meetings during Advisory (6 total) equals 3 service hours.
  • All service hours must be submitted to Mrs. Shirsolkar (NJHS Adviser).
